The Nary Time Gulch is a documented Gold producing mineral property in the Hellgate mining district of Broadwater County, Montana.
Featuring alluvial gravel deposits, developed by drift mine workings from 1965, a secluded miners encampment area, an annual flowing creek and excellent vehicle access.
Within a close proximity to the historic Confederate gulch and Diamond city districts, the Hellgate area has a rich history of gold production since the 1880’s.
Both Nary time creek and avalanche creek are documented gold bearing waterways.
Primary workings consist of an inclined drift mine shaft, driven at a 15 degree strike into an upper terrace gravel deposit.
Underground workings are estimated at 100’-150’ feet in depth.
A small mine spill consisting of water worn rock is located near the shaft, estimated at 20 tons of material.
Secondary workings consist of creek level gravel deposits located on the inside bends and bedrock levels, numerous Creekside prospects and cuts.
Gold in the area is available in course pieces and flakes. Primary sources are eroded epithermal quartz veins higher up the gulch. Secondary flood gold deposits consists of fine flower gold, trapped in the gravels and low pressure zones of the creek.
Remnants of a mining settlement from the 1960’s are located near the secluded valley and Creekside.
Multiple collapsed buildings, a sluicing operation and old Ford truck rest near the mine.
Located off a well maintained dirt road with excellent access for most vehicles.
Parking and staging area is suitable for multiple vehicles and campers.
A perfect location for the beginning enthusiast up to an established mining company.
