The Lucky Jim Mine is a documented mineral property in the Loray Mining district of Elko county, Nevada.
Featuring dual mine shafts, a large haulage adit with standard gauge ore cart rail track, over 3500' feet of estimated underground workings, a treasure trove deposit of high-grade Silver Ore, and a secluded location.
High-grade Silver, Copper, and Lead deposits were known to the Loray district since 1913, with intermittent production reported from 1917-to 1958.
In the early 1980s, the Jim mine and nearby Maybell were purchased by the Gold Butte Mining Company and held for company investments until 2008.
Though most likely discovered before 1920, the surviving records show the Lucky Jim ownership and production from 1980 through 1989 by Larry Noble.
Noble allegedly leased the mine to Gold Butte Mining company, as well as Pioneer resources from 1985-to 1987.
During ownership, the property improvements included: a well-cut dirt road with multiple upper forks, a standard gauge ore track set throughout the workings, compressor pipe, and timbered shaft headframes.
An excess of 3500' feet in underground stock workings is estimated in the mine complex.
Steel safety gates were placed in the late 90s to prevent access by the public or wild animals.
Estimated ore grades: Ore grades of [up to 90 opt of Ag (Silver)], [0.05-to-0.25opt Au (Gold)], {1.25%-to 9% Cu (Copper)}, and [9% Zn (Zinc)] are available in the blocked underground reserves as well as the low-to-mid grade mine spills. Three large mine spills in an estimated amount of 18,000 yards are available on the parcel, ready for sorting and processing of low-to-mid-grade ores.
Access is provided by a good-conditioned dirt road from a main local highway. Suitable for most higher clearance vehicles and all 4x4 capable vehicles.
A large level staging area is located near the mine workings, suitable for campers and multiple vehicles.\
This exquisite mine is available to the beginning enthusiast, up to an established mining company.

- Primary workings consist of dual inclined mine shafts, driven at a 75-degree slope into the mineralized white opaline quartz vein of the deposit.
An excess of 3500' feet in underground stock workings is estimated in the mine complex.
Steel safety gates were placed in the late 90s to prevent access by the public or wild animals.
- The Jim deposit consists of a quartz outcropping nearly 400' in width, with the primary shafts driven on a narrow 30' foot wide portion of the hillside.
